| The Pension of Mato Vukorep
in the village Suđurađ
lies on the south-east side of the isle of Šipan.
Here is the landing-stage of the ferry. The house of Mato has three
Double-rooms with shower and toilet. Mato is a pensioner and a cook, he
makes his own wine, liqueurs, nips and the specialty of the area "prsut i sir",
hard smoked ham and cheese in olive-oil. A delicacy. The rooms are only
for rent with half-board and Mato takes care for a special dinner,
where meat and fish will be served in traditional style. From Šipan
you can visit the other islands and the old town of Dubrovnik easily. The
nearby island Lopud has beautiful sandy-beaches and can be visited by ferry in a quarter
of an hour. Šipan itself has
beautiful swim-bays with pebbles or rocks. A lovely island for walkers and
nature lovers. The flora is extraordinary multi-lateral and here are a lot
of special herbs.
